These homemade candy bars have a delicious chocolate crunch, similar to a crispy chocolate candy bar. They’re easy to make with just a few ingredients and no microwave!
I just love Nestle Crunch bars, but since I’ve given up refined sugar and bad ingredients, I’ve basically given up all commercial candy.
Now since it’s Halloween, I decided that I needed a treat too so I threw these Crunch bars together with clean ingredients and Puffed Quinoa instead of rice.

Step 1
Place chocolate chips and coconut oil in a heat-safe bowl and set the bowl over a saucepan of gently simmering water (double boiler method)
or
Microwave the chocolate on high for a minute and a half in 30 seconds bursts. Stirring between heating.
Stir until completely melted and smooth.
Step 2
Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla and salt.
Step 3
Gently fold in puffed quinoa until coated.
Step 4
Spoon the mixture into your candy bar molds and then tap the molds gently on the counter to remove air pockets and distribute the chocolate.
Step 5
Refrigerate for 45–60 minutes until completely firm.
Step 6
Gently pop the candy bars out of the molds.
Notes
For a more authentic candy bar texture, try:
3/4 cup puffed quinoa for a thicker chocolate coating.
1 cup puffed quinoa for a lighter, crunchier bar.
One important tip: Make sure your puffed quinoa is completely dry. Even a little moisture can cause melted chocolate to seize.
You can also sprinkle a little extra puffed quinoa into the bottom of each mold before filling for a pretty textured chocolate finish.
